Kidds Are First (KRF) was birthed in 2002 through a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer Marie Bonham, who saw a great need for children in the foster care system lacking some of life's basic essentials; such as decent clothing, an extra toy for a special occasions, sporting goods, new school supplies, and more. After realizing that neither the State nor the Federal government provided these essentials, Kidds Are First was formed. In early 2003 a 501(c)3 status was granted and over the years the organization grew impacting more and more children in need.

In 2010, under the guidence of newly elected Director, KRFashions was founded, one-of-a-kind store where kids can shop for clothes and other items for absolutely free. In 2014 the organization launched KRFurnishings, a program through which a qualified family may receive free furniture. 

From the conception through the present time KRF remains 100% volunteer based organization, proudly serving and inspiring the less fortunate children of our communities.
